In the present study, the psychometric properties of the Mind Wandering Questionnaire (MWQ) in its Spanish version were reviewed. A net snowball sample of 317 participants from Lima, Peru, was obtained. A confirmatory factor analysis was performed to assess structural validity. Internal consistency was assessed using Cronbach's alpha and the omega index. External validity was obtained correlating the MWQ with anxiety and depression. Also, a measurement invariance between men and women was performed. The results showed an adequate fit for the structural equation, acceptable reliability, a medium, positive, and significant relationship with the anxiety and depression variables, and measurement invariance between men and women. It is concluded that the MWQ, in its Spanish version, is a valid and reliable instrument for use in Lima, Peru.
