The rare plant species included in the Red Book of the Republic of Moldova are characterized, as one of the main elements in biodiversity conservation works. It also contains information about other categories of species that have a certain importance for the conservation of biodiversity: endemic species, edifying species, species with certain specialization, etc. The main types of forest ecosystems are presented (ecosystems of beech, sessile oak, pedunculated oak, pubescent oak, forests in river meadows). Based on these materials, implementation recommendations are made for the consolidation and expansion of the system of Natural Forest Protected Areas in the Republic of Moldova.
