Abstract This study used agricultural waste as raw material to prepare porous carbon materials through a one-step pyrolysis method, demonstrating excellent adsorption and catalytic performance. The material exhibits an adsorption capacity for ibuprofen of up to 491.53 mg/g (by the PSO model). The catalytic PMS system can enhance the degradation rate of ibuprofen to 94%.
