Purpose Global industrialization has enhanced production, technology, and human comfort, yet it has also adversely affected the environment. The escalation of commercial activity and the utilization of natural resources have engendered ecological problems, such as environmental degradation, pollution, and climate change. This research seeks to address a notable gap in the existing literature about the impact of Green HRM on Green Innovative Work Behaviour, Green Competitive Advantage, and Environmental Performance within the MSME sector in Indonesia. Design/methodology/approach This research utilizes a quantitative descriptive methodology in conjunction with Structural Equation Modeling using Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Data was gathered through a field survey including 200 respondents from MSME business operators in Indonesia. Findings The results indicate that Green Human Resources Management significantly influences Green Innovative Work Behaviour (p = 0.000), impacts Green Competitive Advantage (p = 0.000), and affects Environmental Performance (p = 0.000). Additionally, Green Innovative Work Behaviour significantly affects Environmental Performance (p = 0.000) and Green Competitive Advantage (p = 0.001). This study emphasizes the necessity of adopting green human resources management techniques to promote Green Innovative Work Behaviour, Green Competitive Advantage, and Environmental Performance. Originality/value This study aims to advance the concept of Green Human Resources Management to enhance Green Innovative Work Behaviour, Green Competitive Advantage, and Environmental Performance.
