The article analyzes the level of awareness of first-year students about the industrial heritage of the Ural region based on a sociological survey conducted at the Ural Pedagogical University. This paper examines the problem of forming the regional identity of students of a pedagogical university through the integration of the industrial heritage of the Urals into the educational process. The relevance of studying and preserving the industrial heritage as a significant element of the cultural and historical context of the region is substantiated. The article examines the axiological potential of the industrial heritage of the Urals, including historical industrial sites, architectural ensembles, technical achievements and labor traditions, as a means of forming a sense of belonging to the history and culture of the region, pride in its achievements and responsibility for its future. Methodological approaches and practical recommendations on the use of industrial heritage in the educational activities of a pedagogical university are proposed, including the organization of excursions to industrial facilities, the development of local history projects, the creation of interactive educational resources, the use of digital technologies to preserve and popularize information about industrial heritage. The article analyzes the experience of implementing educational projects aimed at studying and preserving the industrial heritage of the Urals with the participation of students of a pedagogical university. The results of the research can be used in the development of curricula and extracurricular activities aimed at shaping the regional identity of students of pedagogical universities, as well as in the activities of organizations involved in the preservation and popularization of industrial heritage.
