In the context of digital transformation in the construction industry, building information modeling is becoming a superior tool to support building lifecycle management. Building an existing BIM model plays an important role in renovation, maintenance and asset management projects. This study presents a method of applying ground laser scanning technology with laser scanning mounted on an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to collect point cloud data, processed and paired as a basis for building an existing BIM. This combination allows overcoming the individual limitations of each technology, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the obtained point cloud.
