The Giant Dipole Resonance (GDR) and related spin-dependent excitations in heavy spherical nuclei are studied within the Wigner Function Moments (WFM) method. The energies and excitation probabilities of spin M2 isovector and isoscalar excitations are calculated for 208 Pb and 90 Zr. The spin degrees of freedom give rise to the electric spin dipole excitations. For this states, the energy location and E1 transition strength are estimated. The results of calculations are compared with the available experimental data and with other theoretical studies.
