Abstract Women’s empowerment is an essential component of inclusive and sustainable development. Education plays a transformative role in enhancing women’s social status, economic independence, political participation, and personal agency. This paper examines the relationship between education and women’s empowerment, exploring how access to quality education enables women to challenge gender stereotypes, participate in decision-making, improve their health outcomes, and contribute to national development. The study uses secondary data from government reports, international agencies, and academic literature. Findings reveal that while education has significantly empowered women in India, structural barriers such as gender-based discrimination, poverty, and inadequate educational facilities continue to hinder progress. The paper concludes that a holistic and gender-sensitive educational approach is crucial to achieving true empowerment.
