Emergent Gravity from Vacuum Thermodynamics: Unifying Dimensional Flow and Topological Protection

Abstract This manuscript presents a unified theoretical framework proposing that spacetime emerges as a topological phase of a quantum vacuum liquid. By synthesizing the Volovik-Klinkhamer q-theory of vacuum thermodynamics with the topological Fermi-point scenario, we demonstrate that General Relativity and the Standard Model emerge as low-energy collective excitations of a trans-Planckian substrate. We rigorously apply the Atiyah-Bott-Shapiro construction to momentum space topology, identifying the topological invariant N3 as the protector of emergent Lorentz invariance. This topological stability suppresses linear (n = 1) Lorentz Invariance Violation (LIV), rendering the theory consistent with stringent Fermi-LAT constraints, while allowing for quadratic (n = 2) corrections characteristic of the ultraviolet regime. We bridge UV and infrared domains through dynamical flow of the spectral dimension dS, from dS = 2 (UV, z = 3) to dS = 4 (IR, z = 1), via a ”geometrogenesis” phase transition. We provide a thermodynamic solution to the Cosmological Constant Problem: the divergent zero-point energy is exactly cancelled in equilibrium by the Gibbs-Duhem relation. The observed Dark Energy is identified as vacuum relaxation from a perturbed state, with Λ(H) ∝ H or H2. This framework resolves the conflict between quantum mechanics and gravity, replacing geometric quantization with topological hydrodynamics of the quantum vacuum.
