This paper examines how lack of critical awareness among citizens weakens democratic consciousness and enables the transformation of politics into emotional loyalty rather than rational responsibility. It argues that when people engage with leaders as symbols and heroes instead of questioning policies and outcomes, institutions erode and accountability disappears. The work highlights how identity-based following, manufactured nationalism, and emotional politics gradually paralyze a nation, turning democracy into performance rather than practice.
