The influence of age and the presence of prostate cancer on prostate volume, PSA and PSA density.
Key Points
The research aims to analyze the relationship between age, prostate cancer presence, and various prostate measures.
Non-linear assessment of prostate volume changes with age in asymptomatic men.
Evaluation of PSA levels across different age groups.
Determination of a constant PSA-D threshold across ages.
Prostate volume changes non-linearly with age.
Age-related PSA thresholds may be necessary.
A PSA-D threshold of 0.15 ng/mL² is applicable across all ages.
Abstract
In asymptomatic men, PV changed non-linearly with age. Age-related PSA thresholds are supported; however, a static PSA-D threshold of 0.15 ng/mL2 can be applied across all age ranges.
