Adoption Patterns and Economic Impact of Digital Payment Systems among Smallholder Farmers in Northern Burkina Faso:Context

Digital payment systems have become integral to modern financial transactions, especially for smallholder farmers who often face challenges in accessing formal banking services. The study employs a qualitative approach, analysing case studies of farmer groups that have implemented digital payment solutions. Digital payment systems offer substantial benefits to smallholder farmers, facilitating more efficient financial transactions and reducing economic disparities. Policy makers should encourage wider adoption of digital payment systems by providing subsidies and training for farmers in Northern Burkina Faso.
