Mental health issues among primary school teachers are increasingly recognised as a significant public health concern in Nigeria. A mixed-method approach including pre- and post-training assessments with surveys and interviews to measure changes in knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding MHFA. Teachers showed a significant improvement in identifying mental health issues (p <. 05) after the training, indicating enhanced awareness among educators. MHFA training proved effective in improving primary school teachers' understanding of mental health first aid but further implementation strategies are needed to address ongoing challenges. Continued MHFA training for all primary school teachers and development of a comprehensive support system for students with mental health issues should be prioritised. Treatment effect was estimated with logit (pᵢ) =₀+^ Xᵢ, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
