The article explores the importance of didactic games as an effective tool for enhancing learners’ cognitive engagement. It outlines the key functions and principles of integrating didactic games into the educational process and highlights their role in fostering sustained interest in learning. The paper presents examples of the application of game-based methodologies at different stages of education, identifies the pedagogical conditions necessary for their successful implementation, and analyzes the influence of game-based technologies on the development of students’ creative and communicative skills. Particular attention is given to strategies for adapting didactic games to learners’ age-related and individual characteristics.
