This study focuses on evaluating the efficiency of community health centres in Ethiopia. A randomized controlled trial approach was employed with data collected over one year from randomly selected healthcare facilities across the country. Significant efficiency gains were observed in appointment scheduling (40% reduction in wait times) and medication distribution processes (65% improvement in accuracy). The randomized field trial methodology provided robust evidence of operational improvements which can inform policy and practice for enhancing healthcare delivery. Implementation of the identified process optimizations should be prioritised to further improve service quality and reduce costs.
