The authors analyze the verbalization of the concept "RUSSIA" in online news articles published in the UK and the US in 2023–2024. They identify the publication genre and stylistic devices used by journalists, and conduct a semantic-syntactic analysis of sentences for their relevant segmentation in order to identify the leading actors and their main actions for a deeper understanding of the meaning. The article presents an analysis of publications in English-language media on events related to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The authors draw attention to the use of various means of manipulation in media discourse, such as metaphors, quotations, and distortion of facts. The importance of interstate relations and foreign policy strategies is emphasized. The authors note the need for a critical approach to information provided in the media and call for an informed perception of events in the context of global processes. The role of Western countries, including the US and UK, in supporting Ukraine and the possible escalation of tensions in the region are considered. The influence of financial and economic factors on the development of the conflict and its geopolitical consequences is also revealed.
