The article identifies the most pressing problems in the development of agricultural production, analyzes the current state of Russia's food security, and assesses the measures taken to ensure food security at the state level. The article highlights the most significant threats to Russia's food security, which require increased attention due to the presence of numerous significant risk factors. It is established that the measures taken to address the identified food security issues are sufficiently effective. However, the identified problems require further consistent decisions at the state level based on a more thorough analysis and forecasting of the needs of the agro-industrial complex.
