This systematic literature review, conducted using the PRISMA framework and visualized through VOSviewer, examines global research trends in environmental issues and sustainable energy education from 2020 to 2025. Recognizing that effective SDG implementation requires robust educational initiatives in these domains, the analysis reveals consistent yearly growth in publications, primarily driven by China, India, and the United States. Key findings identify three major thematic clusters: environmental education, sustainable development, and sustainable practices. Notably, the review identifies a significant gap in studies integrating advanced technologies, such as AI, digital simulations, IoT, and virtual laboratories, to enhance energy literacy, despite their clear potential. This paper provides a contemporary overview of the field’s trajectory and underscores the need for future exploration into technology-enhanced learning methodologies.
