Five archaeological sites in Yellowstone National Park that had been previously dated to Late Archaic, Prehistoric, or Historic periods, yielded sediment and rock samples that were recovered from features situated within these occupations. Ten samples were submitted to PaleoResearch Institute for macrofloral, starch, and/or organic residue analyses; the latter using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).
Linda Scott Cummings (Fri,) studied this question.
