Abstract

Urbanization in African cities has led to rapid growth of informal settlements, often characterized by inadequate infrastructure and services. The analysis is based on qualitative research methods including interviews with community leaders and residents, and a review of existing literature. Despite the challenges, there are signs of improvement in infrastructure development efforts by local authorities. Increased community engagement and investment in social welfare programmes are recommended for sustainable urban development.
