Youth Participation in Legal Reforms in Nigeria: An Action Research Exploration

Youth participation in legal reforms has been recognised as crucial for addressing socio-economic challenges in Nigeria. An action research approach was employed to gather data through interviews, surveys, and focus groups involving young activists and policymakers. Youth participation significantly enhanced public awareness of legal reforms (85% reported increased knowledge) and contributed positively to policy implementation rates by 20%. The research underscores the importance of fostering youth engagement in legal reforms, leading to more inclusive and effective outcomes. Policymakers should prioritise mechanisms that facilitate young people's active participation in law-making processes.
