The Sahel region of Niger is facing significant challenges due to desertification, necessitating sustainable land management practices. A comprehensive search strategy was employed using multiple databases to identify relevant studies. Studies were critically appraised for their methodological quality. Sustainable land management practices, such as agroforestry systems and soil conservation techniques, have shown varying degrees of effectiveness in reducing desertification severity across the region. While many promising SLM strategies are available, their implementation faces significant challenges related to community engagement and long-term sustainability. Communities should be actively involved in planning and implementing sustainable land management practices, with government support for policy development and resource allocation. The empirical specification follows Y=₀+^ X+, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
