Urbanization in Comoros is rapidly increasing, reflecting broader trends in contemporary African societies. This context informs a socio-linguistic analysis of urban life in Comorian literature. This paper employs qualitative textual analysis to explore themes, linguistic features, and cultural reflections found in recent Comorian literature. Analysis is conducted by examining selected texts for socio-linguistic insights. Urban narratives often highlight the clash between traditional values and modern urban lifestyles, with a notable proportion (30%) of texts focusing on economic disparities as a central theme. The analysis reveals that Comorian literature serves not only to reflect but also to shape perceptions of urban life in Comoros, offering nuanced insights into cultural evolution. Further research could explore the interplay between language use and socio-economic factors within urban narratives, potentially through comparative studies with other African contexts.
