Menstruation is a vital phase in female's life cycle. At times this aspect is given less importance. Females have been subjected to a variety of disadvantages as a result of their status as "the second gender." One of them revolves around the topic of menstrual taboos, which has an impact on women's physical, mental, and emotional health. Through this study, the researcher tries to throw light on the menstrual hygiene and social taboos practiced among adolescent girls in tribal communities. Qualitative and quantitative research design is administered to gain a deeper understanding. Adolescent girls of Gond tribal community of Khati village of Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh are selected through purposive sampling method. The data are collected by mainly operating through interview schedules in village and schools. The research has revealed that the mind-set of people, religion, beliefs and lack of awareness influence the practice of taboos and menstrual hygiene management.
