This study examines the design of water supply projects in rural communities of Senegal, focusing on infrastructure improvements. Water supply project designs were reviewed through a survey conducted among community leaders and local government officials. Data was analysed quantitatively to identify common issues and areas needing improvement. A significant proportion (60%) of respondents identified inadequate pipeline connections as the main issue, with 45% suggesting improvements in water purification methods. The survey results highlight critical design flaws that need addressing for effective water supply projects in rural Senegalese communities. Immediate attention should be given to improving pipeline connections and enhancing water purification systems to ensure sustainable access to clean water.
