Digital journalism in Kenya faces significant challenges related to regulatory frameworks and opportunities for innovation driven by technological advancements. A mixed-methods approach combining qualitative interviews with a survey of journalists and regulatory bodies to gather insights on existing policies and emerging trends. Findings indicate that while there is a growing reliance on digital platforms by the media sector, current regulations do not fully address issues such as data privacy breaches and misinformation spread online. The analysis highlights the importance of harmonizing traditional journalism practices with new digital technologies to ensure ethical standards are upheld in the digital age. Recommendation 1: Strengthening regulatory bodies' oversight over digital media platforms is essential. Recommendation 2: Implementing comprehensive data protection measures for journalists and audiences should be a priority.
