Abstract: The rapid development of information and communication technology (ICT) and multimedia content strengthens cultural impacts globally. Over the past two decades, the Korean Wave, or Hallyu, has been leading this global trend by transforming regional and cultural influences into a global phenomenon and creating new opportunities for various stakeholders. This commentary article aims to introduce innovative media content reflecting the cultural effects—known as K-culture and K-content—around the globe, highlight the crucial role of media research, and offer future directions to develop and facilitate sustainable K-culture and K-content for researchers and practitioners.
