A programme of archaeological watching brief has been commissioned in advance of/during the development of a new cable route at Kerrowaird Steading, Inverness. The project involved the exaction of a narrow L-shaped trench measuring 1m in width, 87m by 41m with a total length of 128m. A small trench, orientated north east to south west, was also excavated on the other side of fencing, measuring 1m in width by 9.6m. The trench was excavated up to 1m in depth in order to install a new electric cable. There were no features deemed to be of archaeological significance within the watching brief area. Therefore, no further work is recommended for this phase of the development.
