Abstract:Objective:Based on the theories of "spleen deficiency" and the spleen-stomach as the foundation of later-nature,this study explores the diagnostic patterns and clinical efficacy of treating common pediatric diseases (represented by childhood functional abdominal pain) from the perspective of spleen-stomach. Methods:Sixty children with functional abdominal pain were selected from outpatient visits between November 2024 and October 2025 and randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group (30 cases each). The control group received health education, dietary adjustments, and conventional symptomatic treatments such as Bacillus subtilis and Enterococcus faecalis dual live bacterial granules and pinaverio bromide tablets. The experimental group was treated with the same regimen plus a traditional Chinese medicine formula(Codonopsis,Atractylodes macrocephala,Poria,Citrus reticulata,Citrus aurantium,Crataegus,Oryx cornuta,Amomum villosum, and Licorice)under the "promoting spleen and eliminating stagnation" approach, with adjustments based on individual symptoms, for 4 consecutive weeks. The observation indicators included:① abdominal pain-related clinical symptom scores;② TCM syndrome scores, and the evaluation of total effective rate. Results:showed that after 4 weeks of treatment, the experimental group had significantly lower abdominal pain symptom scores and TCM syndrome scores compared to the control group, with a total effective rate of 93.33% in the experimental group versus 73.33% in the control group. Additionally, the experimental group demonstrated improved symptoms related to spleen deficiency with stagnation, such as poor appetite, abdominal distension, andfatigue, with P < 0.05. Conclusion:The diagnostic and treatment strategy based on spleen-stomach theory, with "promoting spleen and eliminating stagnation" as the core principle, aligns with the physiological and pathological characteristics of children's "spleen deficiency." It significantly improves symptoms and syndrome levels in children with functional abdominal pain, enhances overall efficacy, and indicates the high clinical guidance value of spleen-stomach theory for common pediatric diseases.
