This paper evaluates the role of Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) technologies in mitigating greenhouse gas emissions within the fossil fuel sector. It examines the technical processes of capturing CO₂ from industrial sources, its transportation, and its subsequent injection into depleted oil and gas reservoirs or deep saline aquifers. The study also discusses the economic viability of Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) using captured CO₂ and the regulatory frameworks required for long-term storage integrity.
