ABSTRACT Vascular parkinsonism (VP) has been established as a clinicopathologic entity. Because Parkinson's disease (PD) and cerebrovascular diseases can coexist in the elderly, it is not easy to demonstrate a combination of VP and PD. A 75‐year‐old woman had a mild stroke at 70 years of age, which caused hemiparesis and hemiparkinsonism on the right side. At 73 years of age, she developed the symptoms identical with bilateral PD. In the unique situation as seen in our patient, a diagnosis of probable combination of VP and PD may be made. (89 words).
