Abstract Health and education are the two most important pillars of human capital formation and sustainable economic development. Public financing of these sectors plays a crucial role in ensuring equitable access and improving overall welfare. This seminar paper analyzes the trends, patterns, and challenges in financing health and education in Karnataka from a public finance perspective. The study is based on secondary data collected from state budget documents, PRS India, RBI reports, and other official sources. The paper finds that although Karnataka is one of the economically progressive states in India, its expenditure on health and education is relatively lower than the national average. The study concludes with policy suggestions to improve efficiency, equity, and adequacy in public spending.
