The extent of applicability of the provisions of the crime of threat via electronic means in Iraqi law

Criminal responsibility has raised a great deal of jurisprudence and legal controversy about the importance of these penal texts, as the basic rights and freedoms stipulated in the core of the penal texts constitute one of the basic pillars of the concept of the legal state, and human rights have become their sacred place in societyThreat crimes may be committed via electronic means, as the development of the Internet and modern communication technologies in the twentieth century constituted a radical and important turning point in the history of human civilization, and was a qualitative leap in human life whose effects were reflected in all aspects of scientific, economic, social, political and other life. On this basis, there are criminal groups that have devoted their efforts to exploiting these high technologies and directing them to carry out their crimes and instincts; which directly caused the creation of new crimes that depend on this modern and advanced technology via the Internet, as it is considered one of the most heinous crimes committed against the other party. It made the other party a commodity that is exploited through the threat process that takes place via social media.
