The archaeological evaluation consisted of two trenches which were positioned between known areas of modern disturbance connected with service trenches. Trench 2 was positioned to investigate a potential linear feature identified through LiDAR data. All fieldwork was undertaken in accordance with current best practice and the CIfA's Standard and guidance for archaeological field evaluation (CIfA 2014a). All invasive ground-breaking works were monitored by a suitably experienced and qualified archaeologist The archaeological evaluation revealed the remains of a modern east-west gully and a modern post-base within one of the trenches, and a single piece of faunal bone was recovered from the interface between the subsoil and the natural substrate. No archaeological features were identified.
