This article analyzes the policy of repression carried out by the Soviet authorities against scholars and religious leaders in Uzbekistan during 1920–1953, based on historical sources and contemporary research. The study examines the ideological foundations of the repressive policy, its stages, the specific features of the "Great Terror," and its regional manifestations. In addition, it highlights the transition of religious policy to institutional control and the socio-spiritual consequences of the repression, providing a scientific analysis. The results of the study allow for a deep understanding of the impact of Soviet-era repressions on individuals and society and contribute to the restoration of historical truth.
