Volume 2026, Issue 6E, 2026(6E). 25 pp. .... ABSTRACT: Meng Jiao's "Song of the Parting Son" celebrates mother-son love through the imagery of "threads in a mother's hand" and "clothes on a parting son," becoming an eternal masterpiece. However, classical Chinese poetry rarely features poems praising maternal love set against the backdrop of a daughter's wedding. This article creates a new poem, "Song of the Parting Daughter": "A loving mother's eyes are filled with tears / Her daughter dons the wedding gown / Before departure, she combs her hair with care / Afraid her child may face unfairness or a frown / Who says a single kneel and farewell bow / Can repay the years of nurturing love bestowed?" The purpose is to fill this gap. This article discusses the poem's creative origins, textual analysis, comparison with "Song of the Parting Son," and cultural implications, exploring the similarities and differences in emotional essence between "a son leaving for afar" and "a daughter leaving through marriage." The study finds that both poems express the selflessness of maternal love and the impossibility of full repayment, but "Song of the Parting Daughter" places greater emphasis on the mother's deep anxiety about whether her daughter will be treated well after marriage, as well as the emotional weight carried by the traditional wedding rituals of "hair combing" and "farewell kneeling."
