Innovative Teaching Methods in Higher Education to Enhance the Classroom Learning Process Dr. Shital S. Sawant Visiting faculty, BVDU, AKIMSS, Social Work Deprtment, Solapur Abstract: Education is the key instrument for socio-economic development. It empowers and shapes the future generations. In today's era of globalization and technological advancement, significant changes are taking place in teaching methodologies within the field of higher education. Traditional lecture-based teaching methods remain limited to merely imparting information to students, thereby constraining their critical thinking, creativity, and active participation. Consequently, a need has arisen to transform the classroom learning process into one that is more effective, interactive, and student-centric. This research paper examines innovative teaching methodologies for students in higher education, aiming to bring about qualitative improvements in their learning processes. This study focuses on key methodologies such as Active Learning, Problem-Based Learning, Project-Based Learning, Collaborative Learning, and Technology-Based Learning. For this research, a qualitative methodology was employed to analyze various educational resources. The findings indicate that the implementation of innovative teaching methods leads to a significant enhancement in students' academic performance, skill development, and problem-solving capabilities. Furthermore, the role of the educator evolves beyond that of a mere only information provider, becoming increasingly vital as a guide and motivator. Thus, the adoption of modern teaching methodologies in higher education is indeed the need of the era.
