Teaching and learning across all levels of education are undergoing significant transformation, shifting from traditional instructional methods to the integration of contemporary technologies that enhance pedagogical delivery and learner engagement. This evolution is driving tertiary institutions globally to adopt Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) to improve instructional effectiveness and to produce graduates equipped with relevant digital competencies for national economic growth and technological advancement. The integration of ICT in education has reshaped teaching practices, enabled flexible learning environments, and promoted student-centered approaches. However, disparities in access, inadequate digital literacy among educators, and infrastructural limitations remain key challenges hindering effective implementation. This paper examines the role of ICT in transforming teaching and learning in higher education, emphasizing its importance in developing digital skills among students and educators. It further highlights the need for continuous professional development, institutional support, and strategic investment in educational technologies to ensure sustainable adoption and improved learning outcomes
