Abstract

Terrain Archaeology carried out intermittent archaeological monitoring during the highway improvement works to Maumbury Junction, Dorchester, within the area of Maumbury Rings Scheduled Monument. A small exposure of the probable Roman road from Dorchester to Radipole was seen in a small sondage on the edge of Weymouth Avenue, adjacent to Maumbury Rings. Only modern disturbance was recorded elsewhere during the archaeological monitoring.
