The Baryonic Matter at Nuclotron (BM@N) is the first experiment at the NICA accelerator complex designed to study the interactions of relativistic heavy ions in a range of high baryon densities. In this work, we present first results on the directed flow v₁ of deuterons in 10–30 \% central Xe + Cs (I) collisions at kinetic energy E₊₈₍=3. 8A GeV, collected by the BM@N experiment during the first physics run in 2023. The results are compared with the existing world data on the deuteron v₁ in the energy range of several GeV.
