Measures directed flow of deuterons in Xe+Csi collisions, suggesting insights into baryon densities.
The Baryonic Matter at Nuclotron (BM@N) is the first experiment at the NICA accelerator complex designed to study the interactions of relativistic heavy ions in a range of high baryon densities. In this work, we present first results on the directed flow v₁ of deuterons in 10–30 $$%$$ central Xe $$+$$ Cs(I) collisions at kinetic energy Eₖᵢₙ=3.8A GeV, collected by the BM@N experiment during the first physics run in 2023. The results are compared with the existing world data on the deuteron v₁ in the energy range of several GeV.
