Abstract: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complicated neurodevelopmental condition which is marked by impairments in social interactions as well as constrained and repetitive behavioral patterns. Conventional treatment methods for ASD have primarily concentrated on behavioral therapies and medication. While conventional treatments play an important role in ASD management, there is a growing interest in complementary systems of medicines including Ayurveda for their potential to support a more integrative and holistic approach. Ayurveda interventions alongside established conventional therapies may help address the diverse and individualized needs of people with ASD. Earlier studies in ASD have shown promising results in areas such as improving behavioral symptoms, enhancing cognitive function, and reducing anxiety and stress levels. The present case series showcases the management of three children diagnosed with ASD, managed with Ayurveda intervention along with parent-mediated behavioral modification for a duration of over 49 days. The Ayurveda treatment protocol included oral administration of Aparajita ( Clitoria ternatea L.) powder, Chitrakadi vati , Abhayadi modaka , along with Nasya (~medication through the nose) first with Anu taila and later by Saraswata ghrita . Assessments were done using the Indian Scale of Assessment of Autism and the Autism Parenting Stress Index. The outcome of the cases indicates that the integrative approach, including Ayurveda offer potential benefits for children with ASD. In addition, the parents’ stress levels also decreased as the children’s quality of life improved. Thus, the presented case series contributes to the growing body of evidence supporting the potential value of Ayurveda approaches in the management of ASD.
