This article theoretically analyzes the psychological and cultural factors influencing students’ social identity. The study highlights the role of reference groups, communicative environment, value systems, national-cultural factors, and the digital social space in the formation of social identity. In addition, transformational changes occurring in the identification processes of young students under conditions of globalization are substantiated from a psychological perspective. The results of the study reveal that social identity is an important component of an individual’s socialization, self-awareness, and cultural adaptation processes.
