This research aims to design and build a dormitory attendance system at the Assa'adah Modern Islamic Boarding School as a solution to the problem of recording student attendance which is still done manually and has limitations in terms of effectiveness, accuracy, and data security. The developed system utilizes biometric fingerprint sensor technology, RFID identification, Arduino Uno microcontroller, and PLX-DAQ as a medium for data integration into Microsoft Excel. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) which includes the stages of design, implementation, testing, and system evaluation. Data collection was carried out through field observations, functional testing, and documentation of device performance results. The results of the study show that the system is able to operate in an integrated, stable manner, and has a high level of accuracy. The application of the combination of fingerprint and RFID has been proven to increase the security, speed, and accuracy of recording student attendance, while data can be recorded and summarized automatically. Thus, the developed attendance system is considered effective, efficient, and worthy of implementation as a modern solution in managing attendance at Islamic boarding schools.
