Background. Steroid-induced dermatitis is one of the most pressing and complex diseases in dermatology. With increased use of topical corticosteroids for the treatment of various skin diseases, there has been an increase in cases of steroid-induced dermatitis that is clinically characterized by erythema, papules, pustules, itching and burning of the skin, which significantly impairs the quality of life of patients. The urgency of this topic is determined not only by the prevalence of the disease but also by the difficulties of its diagnosis and treatment. Understanding of the pathogenesis of steroid-induced dermatitis and the factors contributing to its development is a key point for developing effective therapeutic strategies. Objective. To analyze in detail and systematize current data on the pathogenesis of steroid-induced dermatitis, identify the underlying causes of treatment difficulties and analyze existing and potential approaches to its management. Conclusion. Steroid-induced dermatitis is a complex and multifaceted disease that requires a careful approach to diagnosis, treatment and psychological support for patients. Understanding of the pathogenesis and factors contributing to its development is necessary for effective treatment and selection of optimal therapy. It is important to continue research in this field to develop new, safer and more effective therapeutic strategies that will help to minimize the negative consequences of topical corticosteroid use and improve the quality of life of patients.
