Intangible Cultural Heritage is increasingly important in tourism experiences. This is largely due to growing awareness of intangible heritage resources and their use in tourism promotion and development. This special issue examines the developing relationship between Intangible Cultural Heritage and tourism and the mediation effects of the digital transformation. The examples include wine tourism, World War 2 heritage, knitting, music, colonial heritage and rural culture, which also feature a range of heritage valorisation methods, including digital media, participatory design, and storytelling. This provides a broad view of the dynamics shaping contemporary relationships between Intangible Cultural Heritage, digitalisation, and tourism across diverse contexts ranging from rural and remote settings through peri-urban landscape experiences and heritage cities.
