Kaumarabhritya, one of the eight branches of Ayurveda, focuses on the health and management of infants, children, and adolescents. As young children are often unable to communicate their symptoms effectively, diagnosis depends largely on careful observation of behavioural and physical changes. The Vedanadhyaya, the 25th chapter of the Kashyapa Samhita, provides a structured observational approach to pediatric diagnosis by describing disease-specific patterns of crying, feeding, posture, sleep, and activity. Objective: To critically examine the diagnostic concepts presented in Vedanadhyaya and explore their relevance in contemporary pediatric practice. Materials and Methods: A narrative review was conducted using Kashyapa Samhita (Vedanadhyaya) as the primary source, supplemented by classical Ayurvedic commentaries, standard Kaumarabhritya textbooks, and modern pediatric literature to analyse the described clinical features and correlate them with current pediatric diagnostic principles.
