This study presents a comprehensive multi-omics dataset (metagenomics and metatranscriptomics) derived from coastal wetland sediments across the entire coastline of China. Samples were collected from diverse coastal ecosystems, spanning a broad latitudinal range to capture variations in microbial community structure and functional potential. By integrating DNA-based metabolic potential with RNA-based transcriptional activity, this dataset aims to elucidate the microbial mechanisms driving biogeochemical cycling (e.g., carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur) and their responses to environmental gradients and anthropogenic pressures in salt marshes and mangroves.
