Photonic Universe Hypothesis (PUH) — Reader's Synthesis. THIS PAPER IS AN ENTRY POINT, NOT A RESULT. The archive has accumulated 254 papers between November 2025 and August 2026, navigable only by someone who already knows it — a defect this note exists to remedy. NOTHING HERE IS NEW. What follows is an account of what the framework claims, what it reproduces, what it predicts, and what it has not settled, with the weaknesses given the same space as the strengths. THE CLAIM. Spacetime is a condensate of the E8 lattice. Matter, light and gravity are not three things placed in spacetime but three behaviours of one substrate: light is a phase mode, matter is a localised fold, gravity is the lattice's tension. Where the substrate is compressed past a threshold it freezes into a PLANCK CORE — non-singular, permanent, contained in every gravitationally bound body, replacing the singularity of classical general relativity. THE FRAMEWORK IS THEREFORE A SUBSTRATE THEORY AND GENERAL RELATIVITY IS ITS FAR-FIELD LIMIT, placing it in the programme of Sakharov's induced gravity and Jacobson's thermodynamic derivation — a lineage in which reproducing general relativity exactly is the entry requirement rather than a weakness. WHERE IT STANDS TODAY. THERE IS NO STANDING CONFLICT WITH ANY MEASUREMENT, a statement one day old and untrue a week ago. Light bending γ = 1 exactly against 1 + (2. 1 ± 2. 3) ×10⁻⁵; nonlinearity β = 1 exactly; preferred-frame parameters do not apply, the criterion being on acceleration; global cosmic rotation ω ≈ 10⁻⁶⁸ rad/s passes by 41 orders; frame dragging is below noise. THE FIRST TWO ARE RECENT: for four months the archive carried an identification of the lattice tension with a Brans-Dicke scalar, implying a light-bending parameter violating spacecraft radio tracking by 107×. THAT IDENTIFICATION WAS A CATEGORY ERROR — the tension had separately been established as BEING the metric, and a metric component cannot also be an extra field beside the metric. Removing the double-count returns Schwarzschild exactly. WHAT THAT COSTS IS STATED IMMEDIATELY: the framework now predicts nothing different from general relativity in the solar system. DERIVED, MATCHED, OR POSITED — the distinction a reader most needs, which the archive makes nowhere in one place. DERIVED: Maxwell's equations (U (1) Cartan phase modes) ; the Schrödinger equation (bow-wave dispersion) ; Lorentz invariance (symmetry group of the lattice wave operator) ; 1/α₀ = dim (E₇) + rank (E₈) /2 = 133 + 4 = 137; sixth-order isotropy (E₈ has no degree-4 or degree-6 Casimir) ; the singularity's absence (the Casimir constraint supplies the missing minimum). MATCHED: the anharmonic coefficient, fitted to quantum electrodynamics rather than predicted; the permittivity ε₀, which is the definition of α rearranged — the paper says so. POSITED: λ ∝ 1/V, stated as posited where introduced; the three hundredths of α, required by subtraction under a section headed "the outstanding calculation. " THE MATCHED RESULTS ARE NOT PREDICTIONS AND SHOULD NOT BE READ AS SUCH. And the posited results are where the framework is thinnest: the muon's anomalous moment is 99. 6 percent the Schwinger term, so it measures α to 124 parts per billion, and USING 137 RATHER THAN 137. 036 MISSES IT BY 2, 105 TIMES THE EXPERIMENTAL UNCERTAINTY. THE INTERNAL PROBLEM, WHICH IS THE SHARPEST. The framework's own two accounts of the tension disagree — a more serious matter than any external test it faces. The posited account requires a 1/r falloff; the computed account, from varying the core-formation functional and integrating, gives r^ (−3. 17), reproduced across three starting configurations to 0. 036 and therefore structural. The source is a first integral forcing |∇φ|² = C/r⁴ in spherical symmetry. THAT LAW HOLDS ONLY IN SPHERICAL SYMMETRY, and the framework's cores rotate — cosmic rotation is derived as rebound angular momentum. So the conflict is confined to a configuration the framework does not admit. Whether the rotating case resolves it is unknown: the rotating equation carries a source whose particular solution falls three powers more slowly, so the exponent is no longer forced. THE FREEDOM EXISTS; THE CALCULATION HAS NOT BEEN DONE. WHERE THE PREDICTIONS LIVE. Since general relativity is reproduced exactly in the weak field, the distinctive content is necessarily elsewhere: mass-radius flattening in compact objects (X-ray pulse profiling) ; gravitational-wave echoes and log-spaced ringdowns (LIGO, LISA) ; a nonzero tidal Love number where a black hole gives zero; excess small-scale power growing as k^ (2/3). THE MASS-RADIUS CHANNEL IS MOST ROBUST, reached independently by two lines — the failure of a thin-film reading against measured neutron-star radii, and the demonstration that a core contributes mass without energy, its capacity falling twenty-one orders below stellar luminosity, so THE CORE IS A FLOOR AND NOT AN ENGINE. THE ECHO CHANNEL IS WEAKENED BY THE FRAMEWORK'S OWN RESULTS: an absorbing Shell produces neither echoes nor a nonzero Love number, and the archive concluded the Shell absorbs; whether any residual reflectivity survives has never been computed. WHAT THE ARCHIVE DOES WELL AND BADLY, stated plainly. IT SELF-CORRECTS AND PUBLISHES THE CORRECTIONS: 41 papers carry explicit kill-conditions and 67 carry explicit lists of what is not claimed; recent months include a number corrected upward by 23× in the direction opposite to the first attempted correction, an identification withdrawn as a category error, and a defining property of the core shown unattainable on the framework's own constraint surface. IT IS HONEST ABOUT PROVENANCE. IT IS UNREADABLE AS A WHOLE — 254 papers with no entry point, a defect that has cost the work its readership. AND IT HAS TOO MANY MATCHED RESULTS AND TOO FEW PREDICTED ONES; a framework reproducing known physics by construction has not yet earned anything. OPEN PROBLEMS, IN ORDER: the axisymmetric field equation, the single item standing between the framework and internal consistency on gravity; the anti-screening contribution to α, required to seven significant figures and written with three; a residual reflectivity for the Shell, governing two observational channels; the convergence mechanism for planetary formation, with five candidates excluded by one scaling fact — a horizon-scale core's area grows as the square of its mass, so area per unit mass RISES where ordinary intuition says it falls; and the E8 cell-to-cell force law, the principal open problem, the chain from algebra to elastic constants to wave equation never having been completed. HOW TO READ THE ARCHIVE. Papers are numbered by filing order and grouped in thematic batches, so the paper before and after any given one usually belongs to the same argument. READING ONE IN ISOLATION HAS REPEATEDLY PRODUCED FALSE CONTRADICTIONS THAT ITS NEIGHBOUR DISSOLVES.
