In August–September 2016, an excavation was conducted on the southern shoulder of the Jerusalem–Tel Aviv highway, south of Moshav Bet Neqofa, east of Abu Gosh and northeast of ‘En H emed (Permit No. A-7786; map ref. 212569–648/634193–228; Fig. 1), prior to widening the road. The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by the Netivei Israel National Transport Infrastructure Company, was directed by A.
